Cathy is an award winning executive with solid business results in both public and private sectors, with extensive background in finance, strategic planning, major capital projects, risk management, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, organizational restructuring and leading teams through significant change. Recently awarded as one of the Top 100 2016 Canada’s Most Powerful Women, Winner of the 2015 AWF Peak Awards, Excellence in the Public Sector, 2015 Outstanding Leader – Women in Infrastructure (Top 5 in Canada) as well as Business in Vancouver 2013 CFO of the Year in the Transformation Agents category. She’s constantly looking for ways to make businesses more efficient. She is currently serving on several boards including: Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (Chair Audit Committee); Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (Chair Major Capital Committee), Coast Mountain Bus Company (Chair) and Providence Health Care.
Mid 2015 Cathy was appointed Acting CEO until the permanent CEO was hired in March, 2016, when she resumed her role as CFO and Executive Vice President, Finance and Corporate Services. Prior to her CFO role, she served as the General Manager for Canadian Forest Products Ltd, as well as the Corporate Controller for Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Limited Partnership. Cathy has also served on many executive committees such as; Fiber, Health, Safety, Audit and Finance, Major Capital Projects and Real Estate, Governance and Stakeholder to name a few. In addition, she also served as the Regional Controller for Canadian Forest Products Limited in Prince George and as a Senior Field Accountant for Deloitte & Touche.
An International Certified Business Coach, Cathy is a Certified Professional Accountant, holds a Business Administration Diploma in Finance and Accounting and is a graduate of ICD directors Education Program.
Previously, Cathy served as the Chair for Transportation Captive Insurance Corporation, Board of Directors for Vancouver Coastal Health and British Columbia Rail Transportation Corporation and President of the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Corporation.
