2018 WIN Awards Emerging Leader shortlisted nominee
Desa joined EllisDon in 2007 and has 10 years of experience in the fields of Public-Private Partnership and Alternative Finance and Procurement project development, equity services and project administration. Initially, Desa joined EllisDon as the Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President of the firm’s recently established Capital group. However, she quickly outgrew that role and has since taken on increasing levels of responsibilities within the Capital group in her roles as Assistant Bid Manager, Senior Project Coordinator, Assistant Project Director and now Project Director.
As a Project Director, Desa is responsible for leading the pursuit teams from Project Co, Design, Construction, Facilities Management, Finance and Legal through the technical and financial requirements of the Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) and the Request for Proposals (“RFP”). Desa attends all client meetings and presentations to represent the EllisDon Consortium and ensures the project vision is being met. Her responsibilities also extend to the construction and operations phase of the project where she remains the primary point-of-contact for the client, ensuring continuity to the overall project. Desa works closely with the client, independent certifier and consortium team members to ensure Project Agreement obligations are achieved on time and on budget. During construction, Desa is a member of the Works, Facilities Management, Equipment and Transition Committees to ensure the team is resolving issues as they develop.
As an Assistant Project Director, Desa successfully led the Design Build Finance Maintain CAMH Phase 1C Project during the bid stage (RFQ and RFP). Desa is currently leading the RFP pursuit for the Ontario Provincial Police Modernization Phase 2 Project comprising an estimated 185,000 sq.ft. of new construction with nine new detachment facilities throughout Ontario.
