Lindsay Karpetz is a senior leader with extensive experience in project management, public procurement, alternative service delivery and public–private partnerships. As Director of Light Rail Transit at Infrastructure Ontario (IO), she is responsible for leading the procurement of two LRT projects with a combined capital value of $2.4 billion. These will be Ontario’s first delivered using a Design‐Build‐Finance‐Vehicles‐Operate‐Maintain model.
Ms. Karpetz has championed new delivery models for Ontario infrastructure. At IO, she led the structuring and procurement of the first services outsourcing transaction and established the template transaction documents for DBFM highway projects. An accomplished community leader with 17 years of experience in organizational governance, strategic direction and non-profit fiduciary duties, Ms. Karpetz is a champion of diversity, equality and inclusion and has a strong sense of commitment to accessibility, gender equality, LGBT issues and youth mental health. As the first and now most senior woman in her department, Ms. Karpetz feels responsible for the recruitment and long-term success of women in the infrastructure industry. She is proud to have mentored and guided many to progress in their careers and devotes her time to enforcing principles and developing practices that enable and encourage gender equality in her workplace.
