Yumna joined EllisDon in 2012 after graduating from the Architecture – Project & Facility Management (APFM) Degree program at Conestoga. She has worked on notable mega-projects and continues to push the boundaries in the public and private sector (P3) projects. Yumna has proved herself through difficult and unique occupations such as becoming the Facility Manager and Operations Lead for the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan Am Games. She was in charge of managing 38 Acres for the accommodation of 10,000 Athletes and members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) while leading a team of over 70. The work of her team has been recognized by the IOC as well as the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. After the success of the 2015 Games Yumna undertook a new adventure leading the charge on developing plans and practices to implement for the first time on the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project (largest P3 transit project in North America) as its Property Manager. At CTS she leads a team that manages over 400 properties, while ensuring construction planning allows for business and communities to be maintained, and works with 3rd party developers to allow for the continued growth of the 19km line. Yumna has undertaken these challenges from a very young age and thus is passionate to see the growth of young professionals in the industry. She is a member on two Program Advisory Committees (APFM and Building Systems Engineering Degree) in order to ensure that industry trends and education are forever married so new graduates have strong, relevant, and unique skill-sets, and of course numerous opportunities. She has led the co-op program for Facilities Management students and continues to work with all young professionals to ensure development and success.
