Kate Thompson is Calgary Municipal Land Corporation’s Vice President of Development, and is responsible for the oversight of all infrastructure and vertical design and construction projects in the 504-acre Rivers District in Calgary. Kate is a registered Architect and is an advocate for creative solutions to all the various project obstacles that come her way. She delivers her projects with an emphasis on quality, innovation, design and is a champion for education and mentorship in her field.
The importance of creating strong communities guides Kate in her volunteer work. Kate holds the position of Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Environmental Design at the University of Calgary, and Board Chair of the YWCA Calgary Board of Directors. Kate was named to the Top 40 under 40 list by Calgary’s Avenue Magazine in 2014 and named one of the 150 women in the last 150 years to shape Calgary in the YWCA’s She Who Dares project.
